Discover Sailing Experiences are an Australian Sailing initiative to get more people out on the water finding out what a great sport sailing is, and which caters for all tastes; for those who want to go fast and race to those who just want to get out on the water to enjoy the peace and quiet of wind powered travel.

A Discover Sailing Experience is a 3 - 4 hour session in one of our boats with an Australian Sailing qualified instructor. You will have to become at least an honorary member of Port Cygnet Sailing Club, as this will give a very good no fault personal accident insurance cover while you  are out on the water during this activity. We do not intend to have any incidents but being out on the water does have inherent dangers that we try to mitigate as much as possible.

You will only be going out with an accredited AS instructor, who is qualifications in instructing and first aid are current. The boat will be maintained and safe, there will be emergency equipment on board as well as an onshore person capable of getting a rescue boat mobilised, should that be necessary. We will also not be going out in adverse weather conditions, so a planned trip could be canceled at short notice.
