This event has passed.
Kettering Yacht Club has been a long supporter of PCSC.
They are again running their Channel Challenge on 19 ,20 and 21 January 2024, and PCSC urge anyone from the Club who is able to reciprocate support by attending the event.
See the invitation message from Mick Hawes, Commodore KYC below:
Come and join us for a weekend of excellent sailing, fabulous entertainment, food and "refreshments". Plus, you'll experience a ton of fun just hangin' with other crazy sailors for the 2024 Channel Challenge in the amazing D'entrecasteaux Channel.
It's all happening at the Kettering Yacht Club on the 19th, 20th & 21st of January 2024.
Yes... Of course, there's yacht racing, but that happens if two yachts are in sight of each other. We all know that,
If you're not into racing but enjoy a great time with other yachties, come and join us anyway. Use it as a proper excuse to get out on your boat and enjoy the weekend. Just let us know you're coming and how many others you're dragging along.
The man to contact is our Fabulous Rear Commodore Brent Mackay (Otherwise known as "Rocky"; ask him why when you talk to him).
It kicks off with a race from Hobart to Kettering late Friday afternoon, which normally gets you into the bar in the daylight, where the fun begins!
The Saturday race will have all of the deets in the sailing instructions.
On Sunday, there's a short race from Kettering to Tinderbox to get the Hobart boats heading in the right direction to get home.
Again, if you're not into racing, you could cruise in company for the day and watch the yachts go by or stick around the beautiful Oyster Cove Marina. Just come back and join us for the festivities.
It's a brilliant weekend. Just ask anyone who's joined us in the past. (it's a tad addictive, to be fair)
Looking forward to seeing you there, you'll love it!
Kind regards
Mick Hawes
