The Port Cygnet Regatta has been held almost annually for 132 years. It is a celebration of all that has made Cygnet and the Southern reaches of Tasmanian waters so important for both commercial and recreational users from the first years of settlement. 

For regular visitors, residents and navigators seeking sanctuary the Port Cygnet Regatta shows warm hospitality and great sailing on the first holiday weekend in March.

In 2025 the Regatta will be held over the weekend of 7th to 10th of March and is an Invitation event. This year's event will feature two new events. The 'Around Huon Island Bash', sponsored by Integrated Business Technologies (IBT), will be an event particularly for members of the Cruising Fraternity. It is a Race without Racing! Prize money pool for the first three to finish is $500. This will be held on Sunday the 9th of March concurrently with the headlining Port Cygnet Regatta. 

On Monday the 10th of March will be the Huon Island Hustle, jointly sponsored by Derwent Boat Sales, Peter Johnston Ship Chandlers and IBT. This is open to boats who raced in both the Kettering to Cygnet race and the Port Cygnet Regatta race. The combined Prize Pool is $2000.

With the feeder races on Friday the 7th from either Hobart or Beaupre Point to Kettering, there will be four races available to competitors.

Port Cygnet Sailing Club warmly invites all interested parties to join us over that long weekend for some great sailing, great prizes, great fun and wonderful meals all from our totally voluntary membership.
